Over £600 was raised at a fashion show arranged by M&Co in aid of the charities Cllr Robin Cook, chairman of East Dorset District Council is supporting. The Alzheimer’s Society, Friends of Victoria Hospital Wimborne and Cancer Research UK will all benefit from the event.
Members of the local community took to the catwalk to show off some of the latest styles. The added attraction was that a selection of the ‘models’ were well known local faces, some of whom who were seen in a way as never before in public.
Apart from Robin they included Wimborne’s deputy mayor Cllr Shane Bartlett, PCSO Natalie Shaw, Lindsey Lawrence manager of Wimborne Tourist Information Centre, Emma Ayling and James Webb curator and assistant curator from the Priest’s House Museum.
Robin said: “I was delighted by the way that all parts of our community came together to produce a fun evening that contributed so much to these worthwhile causes. I would like to thank particularly M&Co for their tremendous support, and a special thank you to Reeves and Gallagher, Hair Stylists from Wimborne for their kind offer to style the models’ hair.”
