Feeling the love from Forum Jewellers in Broadstone
Local charity Amelia’s Rainbow really felt the love from St Valentine thanks to visitors to Forum Jewellers who raised £557 in donations from their annual Valentine’s Day competition.
Following a Valentine’s Day competition, a Broadstone jewellers has donated £557 to the local charity Amelia’s Rainbow.
Amelia’s dad Karl collected the cheque from Forum Jewellers and also drew three lucky winners who each won vouchers to spend in the shop.
Visitors to the jewellers had been invited to ‘Lay a Brick for Love’, where they donated £1 to lay a red Lego® brick onto love boards in the shape of a heart, which were displayed outside the shop.
Helen Molloy, Forum’s director, was overwhelmed by the number of entries. She said, “We are so happy to have raised these much needed funds for our charity of the year, Amelia’s Rainbow.
“Our customers are amazing and really entered into the spirit of what we were trying to achieve. The heart boards outside really caught the public’s attention. Not only have we raised money but we’ve also raised awareness of the charity in the local community.”
Amelia’s Rainbow Charity was set up in memory of Amelia-Grace Cooper who died in 2010 from an aggressive childhood cancer.
The fund supports children in Dorset and the surrounding area who are suffering from terminal, life-limiting and serious chronic illness by creating an environment that is full of fun, laughter, achievement and memories.
