An estimated 2,000 people attended the Fern-tastic Fete on the Field on 20 June. Opened by local MP Chris Chope it included live acts, a magician, characters from Enchanted Parties, pony rides, paintball, stalls and a dog show.
Ferndown town clerk Vanessa Ricketts led a cavalcade of classic cars around the showground and the mayor, Cllr Julie Robinson closed the event along with West End performer Richard Sidaway.
Rotary president George Phillips said, “It was a great pleasure to put this show on for the town. Rotarians worked alongside senior members of the community to create a fete that not even the British summer could dampen. I look forward to working on this again next year, when we have already booked 18 June. If anyone wants to help make the fete even bigger and better then please get in touch with me through the Ferndown Rotary website.”
The event raised £1200 for good causes. The main sponsors were Hearnes Estate Agents.
