No wonder Ferndown looked so colourful this year – Ferndown in Bloom, sponsored by Haskins Garden Centres, generated a lot of interest and the results are just in.
The formal presentation evening took place at Haskins Restaurant last night (23 September) with Ferndown Mayor, Cllr Julie Robinson, presenting the prizes. Chairman of Ferndown In Bloom, Jean Read, said the standard was exceptional and thanked Haskins for their long association with the competition.
Barrie and Sheila Smith of Mayfield Close won the Best Front Garden and received the prestigious shield and £100 gift card from Haskins.
Judges led by Cllr Lyn Ovens gave the Smiths’ garden the winning score for its brilliant use of colour and features. To round off the evening, the overall winner’s cup was presented to Val Briggs.
New committee members are required for 2016. Anyone interested can call the organiser on 01202 896071 or email ferdowninbloom@ymail.com
