At the Inner Wheel Club of Ferndown’s AGM in June, donations as a result of various fund raising events were allocated to the following charities: Bus Stop Club £400 (£300 of which was raised by a collection at Sainsbury’s last September); Cherry Tree Nursery at Northbourne £200 for the purchase of equipment; Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance £200; Young Carers £386.
Donations and educational items for children overseas had already been sent to the Mary’s Meals charity
Acting President Mrs Sismey gave her resume of the year’s programme finishing with her regret that the club membership would be minus five this coming year. Resignations had come from members who are relocating or who have health issues. The club offered them good wishes and small gifts were presented by Sue to these ladies. Past officer badges were presented to Eileen Bray and Sheila Smith. The new president Sue Sismey was installed. She said she was looking forward to the next year and hoped that the year ahead would be a happy time for all. Her chosen charities are FoodBank and the Heal Project.
