The Royal British legion branch at Ferndown held its first sponsored Poppy Walk on 12 October for all ages from 1–90.
A Families’ Walk of one mile was set up around town centre roads and Pennys Walk shops, followed by a five mile Senior Walk from Ferndown to West Parley and back via Dudsbury.
The organisers would like to thank all those taking part, sponsoring walkers and those who donated on the day and hope that the walk will become an annual event and part of Ferndown’s Poppy Appeal programme.
The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal every year raises over £30 million to help serving and ex-servicemen and women and their families, when and where they need it most.
