Ferndown Middle School Under 11 pupils have taken home the School Games Gold Award and the Pitman Cup.
Football players at Ferndown Middle School have been awarded the School Games Gold Award.
The Under 11 nine-a-side team won the Pitman Cup for being the best in Dorset with the same year group winning the county’s seven-a-side competition.
Youngsters at Ferndown Middle School – which is part of the Castleman Academy Trust – enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular sports from rugby to cricket and netball to cross country available to boys and girls.
Head of PE Simon Higgins said: “We are so proud of our Year 6 teams; the nine-a-side group finished fourth in the whole of the South-West region.
“They trained very hard and showed what is possible with dedication and spirit.
“But we are equally proud of all those who put effort into their sport in lessons and after school.”
Amber Barter, headteacher, said: “Inter-school competitions are tremendous for the whole school and they give a sense of pride and belonging.
“We value the opportunities that these provide to support our students in building their confidence, resilience and ambition.”
