The first week of July saw the inaugural end of year Summer Art Show at Ferndown Upper School, which was attended by civic dignitaries including Cllr John Wilson, Chairman of Dorset County Council.
A comprehensive display of students’ work from GCSE and A Level across the visual arts subjects of fine art, fashion and textiles and photography was exhibited. The celebration of creativity was shared with pupils from Ferndown First, Parley First and Ferndown Middle. Residents from Fairlawns Care Home also attended, as did members of the public.
Head of Art, Tim Holbrook Jones said everyone was amazed at the variety and quality of the work on display and added:“There is such a wealth of wonderful artwork produced here that we wanted to create an opportunity for the students to share it with the wider community.”
