Fiery art challenge at Wimborne’s museum
The Museum of East Dorset has thrown out a challenge to visitors to design a dragon for the chance to win a prize.
People of all ages are invited to take part in a fiery artistic challenge.
The Museum of East Dorset is organising a ‘How to Train Your Dragon – Wimborne Edition’ programme to run through the October half term.
Participants will have the chance to design their very own dragon for a chance to win some legendary prizes. Whether fierce, funny, or fabulously glittery, every dragon creation is welcome.
The Dragon Design Studio will be open for drop-in crafting, colouring, and creating in a magical dragon-themed space. All materials are provided — just bring your imagination. The studio opening times are Saturday 25 to Wednesday 29 October 12.30pm–2.30pm, Thursday 30 October 11.30am–1.30pm and Friday October and Saturday 1 November 12.30pm–2.30pm. Entry is free with a museum ticket and no booking is required.
All dragon designs will be entered into the Dragon Art Competition, with winners selected by the mayor of Wimborne Minster. Prizes will be awarded for creativity, flair, and fire-breathing brilliance. Winners will be contacted by Friday 14 November.
The Museum of East Dorset is also running Story Time with Wimborne Library and sessions will be held in the museum’s Garden Room. These run on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October at 11am and 3pm.
