For the first time in its 112 year history one of Bournemouth’s historical and architectural gems, the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum is opening its doors to offer couples a rare opportunity to get married at this exotic Victorian villa – something newlyweds Mr and Mrs Hextall enjoyed when they became the first couple to have their wedding ceremony at this unique venue.
The new Mr and Mrs Hextall held their ceremony in the Drawing Room with 13 guests sharing their day with them. It is one of the most opulent rooms in the house and has features delicate, refined and gilded décor. Mr and Mrs Hextall and party overlooked the glorious seascape and garden during the ceremony before enjoying a meal in the Morning Room catered by Urban Renaissance.
Justin Hextall said: “We chose the Russell-Cotes because it reflects so many things that are so important to Sarah and I; passion, love, beauty and the individual. The Gallery is an amazing building in a stunning location with fantastic views across the bay. It’s also jam-packed with stunning art and run by people passionate about their work.
“We feel incredibly lucky to be the first people married here! A big thank you to the Russell-Cotes and to our good fortune!!
