Food For Thought gala fundraiser to support food banks
An online gala fundraiser, in support of the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch food banks has been organised.
The online event will feature 16 local female singers and performers and will take place on Saturday 20 March from 5.30pm.
The singers will perform a mixture of covers and original songs ranging from musical theatre, pop, rock, vintage, blues, country, jazz and soul with a touch of comedy thrown in.
The event organisers – Dorset singer and vocal coach Judy Gosler, her husband Richard Gosler, head of Phoenix Digital Media, and musician and producer Matt Black of Hangover Hill – want it not only to support those who are in financial difficulties, but to lift spirits during the lockdown as well.
Many of the talented performers have been badly affected by the pandemic and are suffering from loss of income and mental health problems due to the entertainments industry coming to a complete stand still. It is a cause they are pleased to support, while using their skills to bring a bit of joy and light into this uncertain time.
Viewers can donate through the donate button on the Facebook page up until the evening of Sunday 21 March. Money raised will go to the local food banks, which are part of the Faithworks Wessex project, providing food, support and help to people and families that are struggling to live, eat and survive from day to day.
Food for Thought will stream from YouTube and Hangover Hill TV. For more information, visit http://foodforthought.show
