Free prostate cancer screening tests in Wimborne
Wimborne and Ferndown Lions Club are organising a day of free cancer tests for Saturday 15 March to help save lives.

Checking to see whether you have prostate cancer could save your life. That’s why Wimborne and Ferndown Lions Club is hosting a free prostate cancer testing event at Wimborne Masonic Hall on Saturday 15 March.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with more than 47,500 diagnoses each year in the UK — that’s approximately 129 men every day. As the disease often develops without symptoms, early detection is crucial.
During appointments at the cancer screening event, a simple blood test will be performed that can help identify risks early, significantly increasing the chances of successful treatment.
Men aged 50 and over, or those 45 and over with a family history of prostate cancer, are encouraged to attend.
However, appointments are essential. To book your free test, visit the website https://gfct.mypsatests.org.uk, call 01926 419959, or follow the Lions Club on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wimbornelions.
Wimborne and Ferndown Lions Club was founded in 1969. It is a volunteer-led organisation dedicated to supporting the local community via health initiatives like this prostate cancer testing event, as well as participating in local fêtes and fairs and organises social events.
The screening tests will take place on Saturday 15 March at Wimborne Masonic Hall, Corn Market, Wimborne, BH21 1JL.
