Fuel poverty awareness events taking place across Dorset
As part of Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, events will take place in Ferndown, Blandford, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport.
Energy advice events are taking place in several Dorset towns from next week as part of National Energy Action’s Fuel Poverty Awareness Day on Wednesday 26 November.
Advisers from Citizens Advice will be in Bournemouth, Ferndown, Blandford, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport, with an additional event in Poole in early December.
They will be able to offer help to people who may be struggling with energy costs, as well as offer energy-saving advice and assistance with accessing further support. There will also be free giveaways to help keep households warm.
Dan Fancy, energy manager at Dorset Energy Team, said: “Many people are worrying about how they will afford their energy bills this winter, but there is help available. As well as offering energy advice, we can advise on grants and additional support. We also have free giveaways, which we hope will help people keep warm this winter.
“We would like to thank SGN, whose funding has enabled our energy team to go out and about in the community and provide much needed support to residents who are struggling to pay their energy bills and may be at risk of fuel poverty.
“We would also like to thank Ridgewater Energy for their contribution to the winter warmth packs and their support for Fuel Poverty Awareness Day.”
