Poole Sports Council was delighted to present a cheque for £500 to Grasshoppers Netball Club at the Sports Awards, held at Magna Academy on 24 September.
Sports Development Grants are available to clubs (up to £500) and talented individuals (up to £250) and are awarded for a variety of projects. Recent club grants awarded have helped to set up a new club, improved the programme and activities at an existing club, and provided equipment. Individual grants have included assistance with coaching fees, competition entry and help with travel and accommodation.
On this occasion, Grasshoppers were successful in applying for funding, to assist with the expansion of their club to include a junior section.
Representatives from Grasshoppers Netball Club, Pauline Kenward and Keith Hensby, received their funding from Richard Yates, Chairman of Poole Sports Council and the Mayor of Poole, Cllr Peter Adams.
Sports Development Grants are awarded by Poole Sports Council, in conjunction with Borough of Poole’s Culture and Community Learning. For further information and to apply for a grant, visit boroughofpoole.com or call the Recreation Development Team on 01202 261306.
