Further funding boost for BCP’s seafront
Thanks to government funding, a total of £19.9m will now be spent on improving the seafront in Bournemouth and Poole.
The government is providing even more funding to boost Bournemouth and Poole’s seafront.
In January, it was announced that the Department of Housing, Levelling Up and Communities had awarded £18.2m to BCP Council and now that is to be topped up with an extra £1.7m which will go towards key seafront projects over the next three years.
Cllr Philip Broadhead, deputy leader and portfolio holder for Development, Growth and Regeneration said: “We made a bold bid for funding to transform our seafront and attract investment towards BCP’s award-winning coastline.
“Whilst we were delighted to receive the original award of £18.2 million, we didn’t rest on our laurels and worked with government to see if we could secure even more.
“After further conversations with DHLUC, I’m delighted to say that our award is being uplifted to a total of £19.9m with that extra £1.7m investment helping us to deliver all these great projects in full.”
