A charity garden party served up a £2,286.45 donation for Lewis-Manning Hospice, which offers free care to people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The Great British Garden Party was organised by Melanie Kiani of Simply Events and Nadia Farissi, who hosted the event in the beautiful surroundings of her landscaped garden at her home in Ferndown. The afternoon party was also supported by WQI Marine Ltd, The Impressive Group, Arcade Flowers, Dorset Tea, Fish Face, IanH photography, Abbas Marquees and Simply Love Vintage, while live entertainment was provided by saxophonist Mark Pitman and singer Nicole Young.
With the sun shining, guests indulged in a delicious, full afternoon tea, with homemade cakes, pastries, savouries and sandwiches, all made using local produce, while Prosecco and cocktails were served throughout the afternoon.
Money was raised from ticket sales, which included automatic entry into a competition for two chances to win a one-week trip to Marbella, as well as a raffle and auction, which included prizes such as an iPod Touch, luxury hampers and spa day vouchers from the Connaught Hotel.
Melanie Kiani of Simply Events, said, “We were pleased to be asked to get involved with this event. Simply Events were delighted to donate their time to this great cause and we had good fun organising the Garden Party, putting together all the suppliers involved, and being there on the day to help style and set up the day. Our team were on hand to look after all the guests and make sure it all went with a swing! A lot of money was raised for Lewis-Manning, so it was all so worthwhile being involved.”
Nadia Farissi, who hosted the event, added, “It was an absolute pleasure hosting this event; the sun shone brightly, as did Simply Events and their amazing team of suppliers, the whole event was meticulously organised and everyone who attended played their part in raising much-needed funds for the hospice.”
