Around 400 people enjoyed the Open Gardens day held in aid of Wimborne in Bloom on Sunday 28 June, which raised in the region of £2,500 for this year’s campaign.
Apart from a little rain as the gardens opened at 11am, it was ideal weather for walking outdoors.
There were six new gardens this year with a number returning from previous years amongst the total of 21.
Visitors came from near and far and Richard Nunn, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom speaking after the event thanked all who had made this such a successful day. He said, “It was a fantastic result and walking round the gardens was a delight.”
The in bloom committee is now preparing for the regional judging of the town on Friday 10 July. There will be a litter pick on the evening of Thursday 9 July, so if you can help please go to 34 Park Lane, at 7.30pm.
