Would you like to visit two colourful gardens seething with plants and help support the Lewis-Manning Hospice?
Bexington, Lime Kiln Road, Lytchett Matravers BH16 6EL will be open on Sunday, 9 June from 2pm-5.30pm. Doreen Crumpler’s half-acre colourful garden is full of interest with fixed borders and many unusual plants, shrubs and trees. There is also a collection of grasses and ferns, with walkways over a bog area connecting two lawns.
22 Holt Road, Branksome, Poole BH12 1JT will be open from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, 11 June. Alan and Sylvia Lloyd maintain a three quarter acre walled garden with seating throughout the diverse planting areas. There is a Mediterranean courtyard garden, wisteria pergola, raised bed vegetable garden, shrubbery and rockery back to waterfall cascading into a pebble beach. Entry is by donation to Lewis-Manning Hospice and there will be tea, coffee and cake available. Sylvia said, “We chose to support Lewis-Manning having visited the hospice on a recent open day. We are delighted to be able to open our gardens to help raise funds for this fantastic facility that helps local people.”
The charity offers free specialist palliative nursing care to hundreds of local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
