Get on your bike for the Mayor of Christchurch
The Mayor of Christchurch secures sponsorship for his charity fundraising events in a wheely good way.
The Mayor of Christchurch is getting some extra support for his upcoming fundraising events. The Mayor, Cllr Nick Geary and Mayoress, Mrs Gillian Geary, welcomed a sponsorship offer made by Ian Griffiths, managing director of Purewell Electrical.
The Mayor said, “I am planning lots of new events to help raise funds for my three chosen charities, so I am hugely grateful to Purewell Electrical for their wonderful offer of sponsorship. With this in mind, one of our key fundraising events this year will be an inter-schools electric bike competition using bikes from the electrical superstore.”
Purewell Electrical was founded by Arthur Griffiths in 1955 in Christchurch. Ian Griffiths commented, “Whilst we have grown into a £5m turnover business, we want to find ways to help the community and charitable organisations. We are thrilled to be able to support the Mayor of Christchurch in helping him raise monies for Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust, Christchurch Lifesaving Club and the Highcliffe Scout Group.
Dates and information about all of the Mayor’s fundraising events will be announced soon, but both the Mayor and Mayoress are raring to go with this year’s fundraising.
