Poole’s premier pedal bike night returns to the Quay on Thursday 24 July with breath-taking acrobatic cycle displays from the Animal WD40 Action Sports Tour.
The free fun for all the family starts at 7pm, and includes the opportunity to have a go on a range of trick cycles and crazy bikes, browse a wide range of cycle stalls and have a say on where new cycle lanes should be built in Poole.
Cyclists of all ages are also invited to decorate their bicycles to take part in the popular ‘Bling Your Bike’ competition. The only limit is imagination, with entrants able to choose their own theme and materials to decorate their bikes. Following a procession along the Quay, the Mayor of Poole, Cllr Peter Adams, will judge the winner at 8.40 pm.
Visitors who haven’t been in the saddle for a while will also be catered for, with information about popular cycle training courses available at the event.
Mayor of Poole Cllr Peter Adams said: “Poole’s cycle event has really grown in popularity, and we’re expecting to see many of our resdients take to two wheels and join us on Thursday. I look forward to seeing the fantastic creations that many entrants come up with for the ‘Bling Your Bike’ competition – I’m sure that picking a winner will be a difficult job.”
The Animal bike displays are scheduled for 8pm and 9.30pm, with live music and the Summer Breeze firework finale will round off the evening with a bang at 10pm. Summer Breeze on the Quay, sponsored by Breeze Volkswagen is part of Poole’s Wave 105 Summertime in the South series of events.
