Join the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for Dorset’s biggest on road cycling event as registration for the event is now open. This invigorating spring cycling event is taking place on Sunday, 28 April, and with four different routes there is something to suit everyone. This year is also the first year the event will have a 100 mile route.
There are four different options with 25, 50, 66 and 100 mile circular routes through blossoming Dorset countryside. The event is fully supported and is suitable for individuals, teams and families taking place on open roads around the beautiful Dorset countryside.
Andy Coles, Regional Event Organiser said, “This really is the perfect event for everyone, as there are four different routes depending on your ability and the challenge you are looking for.
“Cycling is a fantastic way to get fit and look after your heart health, so if you’re looking for an event to push you this Spring then look no further.”
Andy Moore is participating in the Dorset Bike Ride and said, “My close friend Rob has been taking part in this event for the last few years. I thought it sounded like a great challenge, something a bit different and a great way to get fit. I am pleased to be able to raise money for such a worthwhile charity and it’s one that I have been personally affected by, as sadly I lost my granddad to heart disease.”
Participants can start the bike ride any time between 8am and 10am at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wimborne. The bike ride hopes to attract over 2,000 cyclists and has an entry fee of £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s accompanied by an adult. Registration on the day is available but at a higher fee.
This is a sponsored event and the BHF relies upon the money raised to help fund its pioneering research into heart disease. The charity is appealing to participants to raise as much sponsorship as they can to help beat heart disease the UK’s biggest killer.
