Get in the festive spirit and take part in the inaugural Jingle Jog in aid of Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities Plus, on Sunday 8 December. This fun event is great for all the family as mums, dads, and grandparents can take part in a 3k and 6k, while children can take part in a 1.5k fun run along Bournemouth seafront.
The Jingle Jog starts at 10.30am and takes place from Bournemouth Pier. An added bonus is that everyone involved will receive a special t-shirt and head boppers with bells on, to ensure participants jingle while they jog around the course.
Funds raised from the Jingle Jog will ensure the charity’s vital services continue over the festive period. It might be Christmas, but the charity’s services do not stop as a number of the people it supports need assistance 365 days of the year.
The total number of hours the charity will provide over Christmas is 1,875 and this will cost £32,227. If the Jingle Jog raises £3,000 it will be enough to run the Christmas services for one whole day and £250 will support one family over the festive period.
Sharon Wells, events fundraiser, said: “We hope the local community sign up for this extremely fun and festive event. It is fantastic that anyone can get involved, no matter what age or ability. Whether you walk, jog or run, it will be lots of fun! We want to provide the people we support a Christmas to remember and all funds raised will provide a huge amount of care for the special people that use our services. It is great that those participating will have a great time as well as raising money for a cause that is vital in Dorset.”
To take part in this unique event, the entry fee for adults is £10 per person, with a minimum sponsorship of £30, and children (up to 16 years old) can enter for £5, with a minimum sponsorship is £15.
