Ghosts and ghouls at Moors Valley Country Park
Prepare to be spooked by the trail which runs until 2 November and includes Dracula’s lair and a chilling graveyard.
People can take part in a Halloween Trail at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest this week.
Running until 2 November, the trail transforms the forest into a spine-tingling, immersive experience packed with spooky sights, ghostly encounters, and haunting soundscapes.
Prepare to step into the shadows as Dracula rises from his red-lined coffin, surrounded by 30 bats fluttering in the canopy above. Lurking just off the path is a mysterious Plague Doctor, wheeling a shadowy apothecary cart through the trees. Venture into the abandoned pumpkin farm, but beware: the possessed Scarecrow may spring to life if you get too close…
The forest cemetery is said to be home to restless spirits who linger long after dusk, while eerie backlit woodlands set the scene for strange happenings. Listen closely and you might hear the cackling of a distant witch, echoing through the trees.
This year’s trail highlights include:
- Dracula’s lair – complete with 30 hanging bats and a theatrical red coffin
- Spider’s Tunnel, crawling with 50 glowing neon spiders
- A chilling graveyard, where the dead don’t always stay buried
- A kids’ monster-spotting game woven through the trail – can you count how many are watching you?
- Atmospheric woodland lighting that brings the shadows to life
Guests can tuck into seasonal bites, including half-and-half Trick or Treat pizzas, bewitched Heaven & Hell burgers and Vampire Dogs, all delivered by Freemans Event Partners. Finish with marshmallows for something sweet, sip a wickedly good hot toddy, or indulge in a decadent hot chocolate as you soak up the spooky atmosphere. There’s something for every monster in your crew.
