A mother and son fundraising duo are ‘glowing’ all out to help Dorset cancer sufferers.
Alexa and Max Noble of Branksome View Avenue in Poole, are taking part in Bournemouth’s night time Blitz Glow Run 5K to raise funds for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF).
The Blitz Glow Run 5K takes place on Saturday 28 January and will see runners dressed in glow-in-the-dark clothing, race pier to pier from Bournemouth to Boscombe and back again.
Alexa said: “When I heard about the work of Dorset Cancer Care Foundation I knew immediately that I wanted to be involved.
“The charity helps cancer sufferers and their families meet the cost of everything from medical equipment and childcare, to household bills and transport to and from hospital and so I started to attend the charity’s regular coffee mornings and other fundraising events.”
She continued: “I also love running and when I heard about a new run you do at night, wearing glow in the dark clothes, it sounded great fun and the ideal way to raise money for DCCF.
“I told my son Max, who is 18, about it and he said: ‘Let’s do it’
”Together we hope to raise at least £200 for DCCF and hopefully even more.”
