In a break from tradition, Verwood will not be choosing a carnival queen this year. Instead there will be a carnival princess selection on Sunday, 24 March.
Candidates must be aged 9-14 and must live in Verwood or Three Legged Cross.
Another change is that there will only be a walking procession for Verwood youngsters from the recreation ground to the carnival field at Crane Drive.
Due to lack of support and entries of the last few years, there will be no floats or associated procession around the town.
