Grants available for community organisations in Dorset
The deadlines are approaching for applications to Dorset Community Foundation for grants from three funding sources.
People can apply to Dorset Community Foundation for grants from three different funding sources.
Applications to BCP Food Support Fund can be made until midday on Monday 6 June. The fund supports the provision of free or low cost food, meals, food vouchers and food skills initiatives to households in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
Grants will support work taking place from July to September and applicants should be confident they will be able to deliver their proposed activities within this timeframe.
Wessex Water Environment Fund is offering grants of up to £1,500 for community projects/activities in Dorset or Ringwood that have a positive impact on the local environment or support improvements to environmental sustainability. These can be improvements to biodiversity, local growing, conservation of water, recycling/reducing waste and education projects designed to change personal behaviours. The deadline is midday on 27 May.
Young people in Dorset age 18-30 can apply for a grant of up to £2,000 for support with business start-up costs from SWEF (South West Enterprise Fund). Applicants should either be planning to launch a brand new business or within the first two years of running a new business. The grant can be used for equipment, materials, stock or services needed for the business – not for salary or living costs.
Applicants need a referee to support their application – this could be a previous or current teacher, employer or support worker. The deadline is 17 June.
