Starting at noon from Verwood Social Club on Easter Saturday, a gallant group of Verwood Rugby Club volunteers took part in the ‘Great Van Pull’. They pulled their load via all the retailers, the farmers market on Ferrett Green and halting briefly at the town’s hostelries finishing at Verwood Social Club after a ‘pull’ in excess of 5 miles.
The event raised £400 for two charities: Sports Relief and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The Charity Van Pull was also part of Verwood Rugby Club’s “Drive-4-Recruitment” campaign which is set to continue throughout the off-season.
