Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a robbery that happened at around 12.05am on Wednesday 8 April as the victim was walking in Churchill Road, Poole at the junction with Cromwell Road carrying two guitars.
Three men approached the victim, threatened him and demanded he hand over his possessions.
The victim, a 22-year-old man from Poole, gave the offenders two electric guitars he was carrying. One is an orange Paul Reed Smith Custom 22. The second is described as a rare black and white Fender Stratocaster. Both were in gig carry bags.
The offenders left the scene heading toward Sunnyside Road. One is believed to have been holding something in his hand, possibly a screwdriver.
The first offender is described as white, aged in his late teens, five feet nine inches tall, of large build and wearing a black hooded top and dark jeans.
The second is described as white, aged in his early 20s, six feet one inch tall, of skinny build and was wearing a brown coat and dark trousers.
The third man is described as white, aged in his 20s, five feet five inches tall, of medium to large build, and was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms. He was carrying something in his hands.
The victim was not injured.
Police Constable Paul Diffey, of Poole police, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim. He is a keen musician and his guitars are very important to him.
“I would urge anyone with information about who may have been responsible to please call Dorset Police in confidence.
“I am also particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered for sale electric guitars matching the description of those stolen in this incident.”
