Trainee solicitor Annie James, 25, proved she’s a cut above the rest by donating 10 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Annie, 25, works at Dorset law firm Ellis Jones Solicitors and agreed to lose her locks for the charity that provides free real hair wigs to children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and health conditions such as alopecia.
Annie has had long hair since her teens. Reaction to her new style had been very positive, she said.
“My best friend suggested doing this and I thought, what a great idea,” said Annie.
“After my hair was cut off I posted it in a bag to the Little Princess Trust where it will be made into a wig. They’ve sent me a certificate and I feel really pleased at helping them out. It’s a very good cause.”
Annie said that her boyfriend, Matt Collins, 23, a carpenter, had been very supportive as had her work colleagues and she had also raised £408 for the charity.
Monica Glass, Charity Manager at the Little Princess Trust, said: “On behalf of everyone associated with the Little Princess Trust, I would like to thank Annie for everything that she has done for the charity. What an amazing person she is to have donated so much of her hair.
“This contribution will be blended with others and will be made into a wig for a poorly child. The wonderful amount of fundraising that Annie has raised thanks to her kind and generous supporters will purchase a further wig for a different child. Thank you so very much Annie!”
