Hampshire Freemasons open the door to recovery
The two men raised more than £1,500 for NHS charities by cycling around Lymington on their unique machine.
When it comes to a choice of vehicle, two Hampshire Freemasons have chosen something idiosyncratic.
Joe Traykov and Andy Wort raised more than £1,500 for charity by cycling around Lymington – on a door.
The plucky pedallers, who belong to the New Forest Lodge that meets in the town, spent three months combining an old tandem and an internal door to create the unique machine.
Dressed in scrubs and masks they raised the money for NHS charities.
Andy said: “We tried to think of a unique way of doing our fundraising and the idea for the door was from a dream one of the members had.
“We call it the ‘door to recovery’ and people have been extremely generous.
“Every year we do something to raise money and we are still collecting through our Just Giving page.”
