Hampshire schools reveal GCSE results
Ringwood School and Arnewood School in New Milton have congratulated their students on their GCSE results.
Students across the UK opened their GCSE results on Thursday 21 August, and two local schools have congratulated their pupils on their hard work.
Ringwood School revealed that its Year 11 students achieved an attainment score (the total score across their best 8 GCSEs) of 55.7 this year, up from 53 last year and the strongest result the school has ever seen.
Furthermore, 32.5 per cent of all Ringwood GCSEs were grade 7–9 (equivalent to the old A to A** grades) and also up from last year.
Assitant Headteacher Rachel Heaver Webb said: “It has been delightful to share in this success with students today, who were excited to get their results and thank their teachers for all of the help and support in preparing them for their GCSEs and vocational qualifications. We are pleased for all of our students and proud of them for how they have managed both their secondary school years and their formal examinations.”
Meanwhile, Arnewood School in New Milton said it also had another strong year of GCSE results.
Headteacher Jamie Anderson said: “I am extremely proud of the students and staff who have worked so hard to achieve so much.
“These results are a testament to the ambition our students bring to their learning and the support they receive from everyone around them.
“We look forward to welcoming the majority of students back into Year 12 as they begin the next phase of their education.”
