Have your say on planning for Christchurch’s future
Christchurch Borough Council is inviting its residents to have their say on the new local plan proposals for the Borough.
This new local plan for Christchurch will set the overall strategy for development across the Borough to 2033 and this consultation will give residents the opportunity to give their views.
The Christchurch local plan review aims to deliver around 5,270 new homes and 54 hectares of new employment land, which will provide thousands of new jobs and associated key transport infrastructure to the Borough.
The delivery of new homes will be provided in the plan between now and 2033, and include:
• 2,460 homes within the existing urban area
• Area 1: Bransgore and Hoburne: 190 dwellings
• Area 2: Town Centre, Stony Lane and Bridge Street: 213 dwellings
• Area 3: Land South and East of Burton: 568 dwellings
• Area 4: Former West Hants Water, Knapp Mill and Avon Trading Park: 55 dwellings.
Christchurch Borough Council will also be giving the opportunity to visit one of the roadshows.
• Regent Centre Foyer Tuesday 7 August, 3pm-7pm
• Burton United Reformed Church Thursday 9 August, 3pm-7pm.

Cllr David Flagg, leader of Christchurch Borough Council, said, “The local plan for Christchurch will be hugely influential on the future shaping of Christchurch. I urge as many residents as possible to have their say via this consultation.
The drop-in sessions which have been arranged in Burton and Christchurch town centre will also be very useful for residents, so please do use these if you have any questions.”
Following this consultation, which closes on 3 September 2018, a further consultation is planned for February 2019. The plan is due to be submitted to the Secretary of State in June 2019 and adoption is anticipated in February 2020.You can view the full proposals and have your say online.
