East Dorset’s award-winning country park is introducing some unusual new attractions this spring.
Already home to a miniature steam railway, Go Ape, tree top trail, golf and miles of trails and cycle routes, Moors Valley Country Park is now adding archery and hawk walks to its busy event programme.
Suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience, archery sessions begin on 28 March and then run on various dates until the end of August. You can book one hour slots at 9.30am, 10.30am and 4pm or just turn up between noon and 4pm on the same dates to try your hand with 10 arrows for £3.50.
Hawk Walks is another new arrival at Moors Valley. On this intimate falconry experience you‘ll be able to enjoy the thrill of walking with free-flying Harris hawks (Parabuteo unicinctus), learning about these extraordinary birds and the ancient art of falconry as you recall the hawk to your fist.
Led by a full-time falconer with over 30 year’s experience this is a unique opportunity to spend time with these astonishing birds which can fly at speeds of up to 50 miles an hour. To book call Hawks in the Forest on 07954 522843.
Moors Valley is also adding to its season ticket options this Easter.
Season Tickets cost from £25 to £71 for a whole year and ticket holders also benefit from discounts at the park and other attractions and shops in the area. For more information and details of all events go to www.moors-valley.co.uk or call 01425 470721.
