Helping Hands coffee morning at Rick Stein in aid of Diverse Abilities
Helping Hands will be holding a charity coffee morning and grand raffle on Friday, 6 May at Rick Stein restaurant in Sandbanks, Poole.
The event to be hosted at Rick Stein restaurant between 9.30am and 11.45am will help to raise funds for Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities. The Helping Hands fundraising committee based in Poole says the £7 ticket includes unlimited tea, coffee, croissants, and pastries, and can be paid on arrival.
Wendy Wait, a member of Helping Hands, commented: “Our coffee mornings are a great opportunity for people to get together and enjoy the spectacular views of Brownsea Island and Poole Bay over delicious food and in great company. We are pleased to be able to continue our fundraising for Diverse Abilities as the cause is so important to us.”
The charity supports children and adults across the county with physical and learning disabilities and additional needs through a range of services including a specialist school, respite homes, activity centres, play sessions, family support, and an advice team.
Claire Cooper, fundraising officer at Diverse Abilities, added: “Community fundraising groups like Wendy and the ladies at Helping Hands are so important in helping us raise vital funds each and every year. We’re thrilled this type of event can happen again because it’s been a long time since we’ve been able to get together.”
Other community groups are encouraged to reach out to the charity if they are interested in hosting their own events to support those with disabilities in their locality. Previous fundraising initiatives hosted by Helping Hands have included auctions, bazaars, and fundraising luncheons.
