High standards maintained at Arnewood
The Arnewood School in New Milton is celebrating another successful year of A-level results – with every one of its students passing.
Arnewood School is celebrating following its successful results with every one of its students passing the A-level exams. In addition to 100% securing A* to E grades, more than one in five students (21%) at the Hampshire school achieved A* to As across the board, and more than half (52%) got A* to B.
Among the success stories were Samuel Gears and Tom Harris who both swept the board with three A*s each in Maths, Further Maths and Physics.
Other high achievers included Hettie Cutler who scored an A* in Geography and two As in Law and English Language; Samantha Eynon who achieved an A* in Law and two As in English Language and Psychology; Ryan Short with an A* in Maths and two As in Further Maths and Physics; and John Mason who notched up two As and an A* in Maths, Computer Science and Further Maths.
Headteacher Nigel Pressnell commented, “I am delighted by another year of consistently high standards at The Arnewood School sixth form, which is recognised by independent measures as in the top 25% of providers nationally.
“These results are equally as strong as in recent years despite the A-level reforms, which have made it tougher to get the top grades. It is a testament to the hard work of staff and students.”
