Taking in some of Poole’s most attractive scenery, Lewis-Manning Hospice is looking for participants to take part in the sponsored 14km Poole Bay Walk on 3 August.
The charity, which is based in Lilliput and gives free care and support to local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, is looking for supporters to help raise funds with a walk through some of the area’s most beautiful places, including Poole Quay and the harbour side, Branksome Chine and its pine covered areas, Whitecliff Park and Evening Hill, past the hospice itself.
The walk will start and finish at the Fish Shambles in front of the Jolly Sailor pub on Poole Quay, beginning between 10.30am and 12.30pm, and is mainly on level ground, although there are a few gentle inclines. Parking is available near the start of the walk at the Quay Visitors multi-storey car park on Strand Street BH15 1SB.
Designed and run by the Rotary Club of Poole Bay, with the help of other local Rotary Clubs, willing participants should visit www.poolebayrotary.org and follow the link to the event to complete the online registration form before the day – upon registration, simply choose to walk for Lewis-Manning Hospice.
