The hunt is on for the best games room in the South West, as the UK’s leading supplier of specialist games room equipment launches the first ever Games Room of the Year competition in a bid to establish the nation’s number one games room, with a £3,000 prize on offer for the national winner.
Whether it is a lovingly crafted spare room, or an opulent outhouse, Home Leisure Direct, the UK’s leading supplier of games room equipment, including pool tables, arcade machines, pinball machines and jukeboxes, is looking to establish just who is the proud owner of the best games room in the UK, picking the cream of each region in the process.
Andy Beresford, Managing Director of Home Leisure Direct, said he wanted to launch the project because “Over the years we’ve been privileged to see some spectacular games rooms, but we know that’s just a snippet of what the UK has to offer. Some of the time and effort that goes into them is breath-taking and we think it’s about time that we shine a light on some of these hidden works of art.”
He continued: “We’re offering a cash prize to the winning entrant. Whether you’ve got a stylish apartment that cost a small fortune, or whether you’ve a lovingly fashioned box room, we’d love to see what’s out there. The prize is the winner’s to spend as they see fit, whether it be on a rewarding holiday for a long suffering partner, or to purchase the final piece of the games room jigsaw, it’s up to the winner to decide.”
The competition runs for the next month, with entries ending on 18 September 2015. From the submitted entries the Home Leisure Direct team will choose a finalist from each region of the UK. The regional finalists will then have their entries published on the Home Leisure Direct website, where the public will be allowed to vote for their favourite games room entry.
Winners won’t necessarily be the games room with the most impressive or expensive equipment; entries will be judged on creativity, uniqueness and attention to detail.
Andy Beresford concluded: “This is the games room equivalent of Shed of the Year. Have you got a masterpiece hidden away in your basement? Perhaps your shed is your games room? We’d absolutely love to see what you’ve got to offer. So if you think you’ve got a great games room, then get in touch and show us your creation.”
The submission page can be found via the Home Leisure Direct website. Entrants can drum up support for their entry using the hashtag #GamesRoom2015.
