Whether they want to be a doctor, chef, physicist or even an astronaut when they leave school, students at Sherborne Girls in Dorset will now have the chance to research their chosen career path and the university process in a bright, modern and welcoming space, thanks to the opening of a brand-new Careers, Higher Education and Sixth Form Centre in the heart of the school.
This contemporary facility, which will be equipped with up-to-date resources including laptops and computer software, has separate areas for individual consultations and conference meetings, as well as designated areas for research, personal study and relaxed browsing.
“The new Sixth Form Higher Education and Careers Centre opened for business at the start of this term, and students from both the Upper and Lower Sixth have been busy making the most of the new facility,” says Head of Higher Education and Careers, Fiona Harrall. “It is wonderful to have dedicated space where we can see the students and help them prepare for both university and today’s fast-changing workplace.”
