A Service of Thanksgiving for the life and work of Edward, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu will be held in St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey at noon on Wednesday 20 January.
Lord Montagu, who died on 31 August 2015 aged 88, was the devoted custodian of his family’s 7,000-acre Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire. He was also a champion of the historic vehicle movement and founder of the National Motor Museum. He played a major role in the preservation of England’s historic houses and the development of the UK tourism industry.
All are welcome to attend the memorial service and tickets are not required. The dress code for the service is lounge suit/day dress.
In accordance with the late Lord Montagu’s wishes, donations may be made to the two charities established by him – the National Motor Museum Trust and the Countryside Education Trust.
