Jubilee party boxes delivered to West Moors' care homes
West Moors Town Council has been busy delivering party boxes to local care homes to help them celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Whilst the Platinum Jubilee is a great opportunity for people to come together at local street parties and gatherings, the town council felt that those who reside in care homes do not really have this luxury. It was decided to provide free party boxes to the five care homes in the town.
Brook View with 45 residents, Summer Hill with 15 residents, Five Gables with 12 residents, Chestnut Lodge with 12 residents and Denewood House with 21 residents.
Most of these homes had begun their tribute to the occasion by creating Jubilee display boards.
It is hoped that the party boxes will help the elderly residents to celebrate the extraordinary and long service of HM The Queen.
Each party box included party items such as Jubilee plates, cups, napkins and bunting, flags, pin badges, cupcakes and prosecco.
Chair of the council, Cllr Mrs Rita Burke hand delivered these boxes on Friday 20 May.
West Moors Town Council has also decorated the Petwyn with red, white and blue bunting, which supports the Jubilee Flag already flying there.
