Julia’s House launches events programme for 2022
After two years of limited events, the children’s hospice charity has launched a full programme for the coming year.
Full of optimism for a better year ahead, Julia’s House Children’s Hospice has produced its first full programme of fundraising events since 2019.
Whether you want the experience of a lifetime jumping from 13,000 feet, feel like taking on a marathon hike and making the most of the spectacular scenery on your doorstep or dusting off your running shoes and hitting the road, Julia’s House has something for you.
Set yourself a personal challenge, get friends or family together to take on an adventure or celebrate a landmark birthday.
23 April: Julia’s House sky dive at the Army Parachute Association near Salisbury.
26 June: trek along the Dorset coastline mastering cliff top climbs and enjoying breath-taking views with a celebration when you finish. 26- or 13-mile routes.
17 July: the Great Wiltshire Walk with spectacular scenery and landmarks such as Avebury’s World Heritage Stone Circle, with a glass of fizz waiting for you at the finish at the King’s Arms, All Cannings. 26- or 13-mile routes.
From 8-9 October: sign up for a free charity place running and fundraising for Julia’s House in Run Bournemouth. Choose from the half-marathon, 10k or 5k and there are also junior races for children aged from three to 12.
If you’re a local business looking for an inspiring team building day or just want to organise a get together with friends to celebrate a special occasion, Julia’s House now offers specially trained guides who can organise a private guided hike in Dorset or Wiltshire. Just choose when and where you’d like to go, how far and how challenging.
Hannah Miller, events manager said: “Like many charities, we were forced to cancel so many of our events over the last two years which has had a significant impact on our fundraising income but has also been disappointing for lots of people who we know love to come out and support us in this way. We have been able to run some of our events on a smaller scale but it feels so good to be planning our big challenges again and give everyone a chance to do something they’ve never done before, set some exciting personal goals and have fun together knowing they’re helping those most in need in our local community too.”
If the event does have to be cancelled, the charity will offer everyone who’s signed up the option to withdraw or postpone until 2023.
