Kids in Vis campaign helped by Meridian Lifts
Meridian Lifts, based in Poole, are supporting the local ‘Kids in Vis’ campaign by donating high-visibility jackets to a local infant school.
Children from Ad Astra Infant School in Poole will now benefit from wearing high-visibility jackets, making their journeys to-and-from school much safer. An employee at Meridian Lifts approached company owners Joanne and Andrew Tomlin to see if they would consider funding high-visibility jackets for their child’s school.
Lucy Waterhouse, head of school at Ad Astra Infant School, said, “The kind generosity of Meridian Lifts means that each child will now benefit from a high-visibility jacket. With the dark mornings and evenings, it is essential that we keep our children safe and visible. It’s been great to see the children wearing them”.
Joanne Tomlin, owner, Meridian Lifts, said, “We are delighted to be able to donate the jackets to Ad Astra Infant School. We feel it is important to keep children visible to other road users when walking to-and-from school. We are looking to supply these to other local schools as we hope it will encourage improved road safety and awareness. I personally remember the Green Cross Code and The Tufty Club, as safety works both ways.”
Kids in Vis is a scheme set up by local businessman Mike Trimby. The initiative aims to hand out high-visibility jackets to schoolchildren to help improve safety.
