A Dorset law firm is urging other companies to follow its lead and enter a team for this year’s Bournemouth Race for Life.
Thousands of women are expected to take part in the two 5km events along Bournemouth Seafront on Sunday June 16.
Places are still available for the afternoon race with both events set to raise more than £250,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Ellis Jones Solicitors, which has offices in Bournemouth, Canford Cliffs, Ringwood and Swanage, is entering an 11-strong team in the morning event.
Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, said the firm had taken part in every Race for Life since 2002.
“I would urge other companies to enter a team so we can raise the maximum amount of money for this fantastic cause,” he said.
“Cancer is a truly dreadful disease which blights the lives of so many people. We’re determined to do our bit as a firm to raise the maximum amount of money to help find a cure.”
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life began in 1994 and is now the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK.
To date more than 6M women have taken part raising over £493 million in sponsorship.
