High value lifesaving equipment has been stolen in Poole.
The theft took place between 3pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday 8 December in the Branksome area.
The equipment, which belonged to the Branksome Lifesaving Club, was stolen from a storage container located between Pinewood Road and Beach Road.
Among the items stolen was an orange lifesaving boat with ‘surf rescue’ and ‘Branksome Chine’ written on its side, an anchor, an outboard engine, a guide knife and two short wooden paddles.
Police Constable Trudy Gamble, of Poole police, said: “This is a heartless crime that will have a great impact on a number of people within the community.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed someone behaving suspiciously in the area or who has any other information to contact me, in confidence, on 101.
“I would also ask the public to look out for the stolen equipment, in particular the lifesaving boat and to report any sightings to Dorset Police.”
