Local beauty spots in Dorset are travellers’ choice
If there had ever been any doubts that Dorset was a great place to visit, they can now be dispelled with the announcement that Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre and the Lower Gardens in Bournemouth have both been recognised as winners in the Tripadvisor 2020 Travellers’ Choice awards.
The Grade II Listed Lower Gardens give a seasonal nod to the town’s Victorian heritage. The Visitor Centre, established in 2015, is the gateway to Hengistbury Head and Mudeford Spit. Built to help everyone learn how and why to visit this special place responsibly, money raised in the visitor centre gift shop helps to support the conservation management work undertaken on site.
Kanika Soni, chief commercial officer at Tripadvisor, said, “Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travellers as the world begins to venture out again.”
