As part of Hospice Care Week and World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, Lewis-Manning Hospice in Poole will be opening its doors to the public on Friday 11 October from 4–6pm for a free open afternoon.
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day takes place on October 12. It is a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world. Lewis-Manning supports over 650 local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and this will be an opportunity to meet the staff, take a tour of the hospice and learn more about hospice care, its plans for the future and job opportunities.
The hospice, which moved into a brand new state of the art facility in 2012 at Crichel Mount Road in Lilliput, overlooking Poole Harbour, aims to help raise awareness and understanding of the needs – medical, social, practical, spiritual – of people living with a life-limiting illness and of those of their families and carers.
Lewis-Manning Hospice is situated at 1 Crichel Mount Road, Lilliput, Poole, Dorset BH14 8LT.
