An ‘inspiring’ project to help firms involved in environmental goods and services, plus mainstream businesses keen to move to low-carbon solutions, is set to launch.
LoToNo, which provides access to expertise and growth vouchers, will be introduced at the Offshore Renewable Energy Conference in Southampton on Friday 28 November.
The project, which has European Union co-funding, is aimed at eligible companies in Dorset and Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight.
Partners are the not-for-profit business support company WSX Enterprise, Borough of Poole, Dorset County Council, the Future Solent green technology initiative and a French marine sector network, Pole Mer Méditerranée.
LoToNo Project Manager Anna Traylor said: “This inspiring project is aimed at helping businesses to play their part in emerging low-carbon, resource-efficient industries.
“We have been awarded £250,000 towards vouchers for applicants who can show they are truly supporting environmental innovation.
“This could mean mainstream businesses making the transition to supply the renewable or cleantech industry, or a business or group of businesses creating novel solutions to sustainability challenges.
“The Southampton conference is an ideal chance to meet and discuss with those potentially interested.”
The free event, hosted by SOREC, the Solent Offshore Renewable Energy Consortium, and joined by LoToNo and Regen SW, takes place at the Southampton Solent University Conference Centre on Friday 28 November from 10am to 4pm.
Delegates will discuss supply chain development and innovation in the offshore renewable energy industry with an emphasis on helping small businesses access or develop their involvement in this lucrative market.
