Exciting times at Cuthbury as Wimborne Town secure yet another key signing and then cement their place in the Calor League Division One South & West play-off zone.
Manager Steve Cuss signed defender Ian Oliver from Poole Town 48-hours ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Clevedon. Oliver was manager Steve Cuss’ second defensive signing during November following the capture of Gary Middleton three weeks earlier.
Oliver started the game on the bench, but was introduced during a second half in which the Magpies hit Clevedon with four goals. James Stokoe led the rout with a double. Top scorer Mark Gamble and Sam Griffin added to the scoreline before the visitors grabbed consolation as Wimborne ran out 4-1 winners to remain in the top-5.
This Saturday the Magpies take to the road for an away clash at Paulton Rovers. Kick off 3pm. Then on Tuesday (3 December) they travel to local rivals Poole for a Dorset Senior Cup quarter-final encounter, kick off 7.45pm. These two sides met in last season’s final.
