Wimborne Town’s fixture backlog was worsened last Saturday when the latest bout of storms saw their game at Didcot Town postponed.
The Magpies had better luck in midweek when the rearranged game at Stratford Town got the go-ahead.
It was a difficult game for Wimborne in more ways than one. With players having to leave their day jobs at different times it was impossible to arrange a coach so they had to drive themselves up for the game.
Despite the less than perfect preparation Wimborne led twice during the encounter through the recalled Jamie Davidson, and Ian Oliver. But Stratford fought back to gain a 4-2 victory, their final goal not coming until the dying minutes.
This Saturday Wimborne are back at Cuthbury where they host Cirencester Town, kick off 3pm. The following Tuesday the Magpies are at home again, facing Yate Town, kick off 7.45pm.
