A successful week saw Wimborne Town reach to the Dorset Senior Cup quarter-finals and come within two points of a place in the Calor League Division One South & West playoff zone.
In a rare Wednesday night first team game at Cuthbury, the Magpies faced Dorset Premier League Wareham Rangers in a Senior Cup second round encounter. Wimborne fans have been used to seeing a flurry of goals in recent weeks and Wimborne were 3-1 up inside 25-minutes.
The Magpies ran out 7-1 winners, but those final four goals did not arrive until the last 10 minutes of the game.
On Saturday Wimborne gained their first league victory away from home since late September, winning 1-0 at Godalming Town.
Mark Gamble’s third minute goal proved to be the decider, but the Magpies had to battle hard for their victory with goalkeeper Jason Harvell putting in a sterling performance.
This coming Saturday (9 November) Wimborne are back in league action at Cuthbury when they host Mangotsfield United, kick off 3pm.
